Manager of Financial Services (Full-Time Permanent)
(Salary Range $116,300 - $133,500 per annum)
The City of Powell River is seeking a highly skilled, dedicated professional to join our team as the Manager of Financial Services. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Financial Services, the incumbent manages the Financial Services team to ensure high quality accounting standards and practices for the City. Key responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of the City’s annual budget, overseeing financial and operational reporting, liaising with external auditors, and implementing best practices and systems to support the effective delivery of City services.
Ideally, you have a degree in finance, commerce, business administration or a related discipline and hold a Chartered Professional Accountant designation. Along with five years of progressive accounting and finance experience, you have considerable knowledge of general public sector accounting, finance and budgeting practices, particularly as they relate to a local government, and two years of supervisory experience.
This is a full-time permanent position with an annual salary range of $116,300 - $133,500. We offer a competitive benefit package that is wholly paid for by the employer and a superior pension plan. The successful applicant must be willing to relocate to Powell River; relocation assistance is available.
