About the Role

As a Group Facilitator, you will co-lead evidence-informed social-emotional skills and mental health groups for children and teens (ages 4–17) using Behaviour Matters' professionally developed curriculum. You'll help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where children feel supported, challenged, celebrated, and excited to learn. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building relationships, leading activities, thinking creatively, and helping children grow emotionally, socially, and behaviourally.

What You'll Do

Co-facilitate social-emotional skills and mental health groups for children and teens. Build meaningful relationships with participants and their families. Lead engaging games, discussions, role-plays, art activities, and hands-on social-emotional learning experiences. Adapt activities to meet the unique strengths and needs of each group. Provide behavioural coaching, emotional support, and positive redirection when needed. Communicate with parents regarding participant progress and successes. Complete session documentation and progress notes. Collaborate closely with fellow facilitators, the Program Coordinator, and Clinical Director. Potentially participate in occasional community workshops and outreach events.

Schedule

This is a part-time position ideal for someone looking for meaningful weekend work with opportunities for additional hours during weekday evenings.

Typical commitment includes

One weekend day (Saturday or Sunday), approximately 9:00 AM–6:30 PM A few hours during the week for documentation and writing progress report Opportunities to facilitate additional weekday evening groups Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications Required

Diploma or Degree in Child & Youth Care, Social Service Work or another related helping profession Experience facilitating groups with children and/or teens Experience supporting children and youth with emotional, behavioural, developmental, and/or social challenges (including ADHD, ASD, anxiety, learning differences, and emotional regulation difficulties) Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check (or willingness to obtain one) First Aid Level C Certification

Assets

Experience facilitating social skills, emotional regulation, or mental health groups Knowledge of evidence-based/informed therapeutic approaches Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle for potential community workshops

Our group programs are offered on weekdays after school and on the weekend.
