Part-Time Instructor, Electrical Training & Assessments

Position Summary
We Are Seeking Qualified Part-time Instructors To Deliver Training In Multi-Skill Maintenance And Conduct Assessments In Electrical And Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Successful Candidates Will Provide Professional, Learner-centred Instruction To Corporate Clients On The Following Topics
- Electrical Fundamentals
- Electrical Code
- Electrical Motor Control
- Control Logix
- PLC-SLC Troubleshooting
Applicants interested in delivering Electrical courses to corporate clients must be available between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Assessments will take place on Saturdays, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Successful candidates will be required to conduct work on-site at Conestoga’s Doon campus, located at 299 Doon Valley Drive in Kitchener, beginning in November 2025.
Qualifications
- A Certificate of Qualification as a licensed Industrial Electrician (442A) is required
- Minimum five years of experience with PLCs
- Minimum five years of experience with Electrical Motor Controls (EMCs)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
- Deep understanding of PLC hardware, software and Basic Ladder Logic concepts
- Experience in training Apprenticeships is considered an asset
- Previous experience teaching at the post-secondary level is considered an asset
- Experience with computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) is preferred
- Demonstrated exceptional presentation, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
