Job Title: Machine Fitter/Assembler-Mechanical
Location: Brampton, ON
Pay rate- $28-$32/hr
Job Type: Initial 3 months Contract (with possibility of extension or permanent)
Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Operations Manager
Job Summary:
Our client, an Engineer-to-Order manufacturer of high-speed packaging machinery, is seeking an experienced Machine Fitter. The successful candidate will be responsible for precision assembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical machinery based on engineering drawings and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical, electrical, and optical components per engineering drawings and BOMs
- Use hand tools and powered tools (torque wrenches, pneumatic/electric drivers)
- Perform in-process inspections and basic functional testing
- Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues in collaboration with engineering
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
- Prepare assemblies for cleaning, packaging, and shipment
- Follow quality, safety, and 5S/Lean manufacturing practices
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of precision mechanical assembly experience
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience with machine shop equipment and bench assembly
- Familiarity with power tools and inspection tools
- Experience with electro-mechanical or opto-mechanical systems is an asset
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable standing, bending, and working with hands and tools in a manufacturing environment
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels
Contract Details:
- Initial 3-month contract (possible contract extension or permanent)
- Immediate start preferred
