GENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS JOB Reporting to the Project Delivery Manager, the Business Technology Specialist is a key driver in how Cementation evolves into a more connected, data-driven, and digitally enabled organization, responsible for developing, supporting, and implementing new technology and business processes across different departments. This role focuses on digital transformation initiatives, business process re-engineering, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
This is not a traditional IT or analyst role, nor is it a position with a predictable daily routine. It is built for someone who thrives in change, takes ownership, and is motivated by turning complex business challenges into practical digital solutions, directly influencing how the company competes and performs in an increasingly digital industry. Success is defined by impact and adoption-not routine-making this role ideal for a high performer who wants to help shape the future of Cementation rather than maintain the status quo.
Working closely with operations, contracting, engineering, finance, HSE, HR and leadership, the Business Technology Specialist identifies process gaps, re-engineers workflows, and delivers technology-enabled solutions that improve efficiency, visibility, and decision-making.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Cementation
- Be aware of any health and safety hazards or infractions and report same to Health and Safety Department
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace, including when working at project sites and in technology‑related environments.
General Responsibilities
- Support and implement digital transformation initiatives at the enterprise and project levels
- Design and document integrated, end‑to‑end workflows that improve data flow between project sites, engineering, contracting, business development finance, HSE, and other groups.
- Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements and solution designs.
- Work with low-code/no-code platforms, business automation, BI/reporting solutions, and AI tools, to deliver practical solutions.
- Develop or support dashboards and reports that provide timely, accurate information to project and corporate leadership.
- Support, maintain, and troubleshoot IT systems and information architecture (e.g., workflow automation, analytics tools, reporting tools, cloud/network applications).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define use-cases, and map/re-engineer business processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, finance, HR, engineering, IT).
- Manage projects, stakeholder communications, change management, documentation, and quality assurance.

Travel Requirements
- This position has the requirement for occasional travel to our project sites and offices
- Travel may include Canadian and US assignments
Supervisory Responsibilities
- No direct reports.
- May provide direction to or coordinate the work of third‑party suppliers, consultants, and implementation partners as required.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Applied Computing, Business, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Business Technology.
- 7-10 years' experience developing, supporting, and implementing technology and business processes. Experience in mining, construction, heavy industrial, or similar project‑based environments could be advantageous.
- Relevant work experience in computer sciences, business technology support, systems analysis, business analysis, or IT/business integration roles.
- Experience with low-code/no-code platforms, business automation, BI/reporting solutions.
- Deep understanding in artificial intelligence, experience utilizing large language models and generative AI tools, experience with integrating AI into business processes.
- Experience with software packages such as Microsoft Power Apps, JDE (or other ERP), and ReportsNow is an asset.
- Experience working in agile delivery environments, managing projects, stakeholder communications, change management, documentation, and quality assurance.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- High-level understanding of IT systems and information architecture such as workflow automation, business intelligence / analytics tools, reporting tools, cloud or network applications; and the ability to support, maintain and troubleshoot these.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills (ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders).
- Experience supporting and implementing digital transformation at an enterprise level.
- Experience in change management and quality assurance.
- Project management capability for end-to-end solution delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a group environment and collaborate with diverse cross functional teams.
- Flexible, with solid interpersonal skills for working in a diverse environment.
- Able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
