About the role

Job Description

The Senior Learning and Development Specialist reports to the Senior Manager, Leadership Development and Engagement and is responsible for leading the end-to-end management of leadership programs and solutions including design, planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation ensuring high quality experiences that build leadership capability and support employee engagement across the organization. Working closely with senior leaders, business partners, and subject matter experts, the successful candidate will assess learning needs, develop engaging learning experiences, facilitate in-person and virtual programs, and support key initiatives including leadership onboarding, leadership development, and employee engagement. This role will be based at our head office in Markham, Ontario. Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment.

Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of the internally developed and led, cohort-based leadership development programs. This includes program planning, timelines, milestones, communication, participant logistics and program evaluation. Coordinate program nominations, participant eligibility, registrations, attendance and cohort participant management to ensure a seamless experience Develop and support facilitators in delivering train-the-trainer sessions to prepare leaders and subject matter experts to effectively facilitate leader-led programs Partner with leaders, facilitators and business stakeholders to identify learning needs and recommend effective solutions aligned with our business priorities Design blended learning experiences for leaders including instructor-led training, virtual learning, eLearning, microlearning, job aids and performance support toolkits. Partner with the Senior Manager, Leadership Development and Engagement to execute the leadership development strategy and support the evolution of leadership programs based on organizational priorities and emerging needs Serve as the Learning Management System (Workday Learning) administrator, managing course catalogs, learning assignments, enrollments, learning campaigns, reporting, testing etc. Evaluate program effectiveness using participant feedback, business outcomes, metrics and recommend improvements Support employee engagement strategy by developing leader resources, tools and experiences that enable leaders to interpret their results and create meaningful action plans Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices related to leadership, employee engagement and learning and development Qualifications: Post-secondary degree in Learning and Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Instructional Design or a related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in Learning and Development, Leadership Development or Organizational Development Experience designing and facilitating leadership development programs to senior leaders Strong instructional design skills with experience developing blended learning solutions Strong consultation, influencing and relationship building skills with the ability to build credibility with leaders and stakeholders at all levels Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies Experience with Articulate 360, Camtasia, Workday Learning (LMS), Canva, Vyond, or Adobe Creative Cloud is considered an asset Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, set priorities and solve problems Experience using and leveraging digital tools including AI enabled solutions, to enhance learning design, content development, research, productivity and learner experiences is an asset At Extendicare, we believe that working as a team creates an environment that allows us to reach our potential.
