The opportunity:
The Project Coordinator & Assistant to Research Lead provides high-level administrative support to the Research Lead – Science of Teaching and Learning at the Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, University of Manitoba. This role is central to coordinating communications, managing schedules, and facilitating the operational needs of the Science of Teaching and Learning (STL) team. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, discretion, and a strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic research and evaluation environment.
The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:
- Undergraduate degree in business administration or a related field is required.
- Minimum 3 years of administrative experience is required, preferably in an academic or research setting.
- Knowledge of university regulations, programs, and procedures as they relate to the function of the Science of Teaching and Learning Team preferred.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated exceptional skills in planning, organizing, coordinating and establishing work priorities and deadlines is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in time management is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication, including the capacity to offer guidance and to develop and deliver informational materials is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Planner Premium, and other tools is required.
- Ability to create a variety of presentations using presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint) for different audiences is required.
- Ability to make sound independent judgments and utilize problem-solving abilities is required.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of internal and external contacts is required.
- Familiarity with university systems and procedures is an asset.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
