Director, Technology Engineering
TheDirector, Technology Engineeringleads the technology strategy, architecture, engineering execution, and innovation agenda for enterprise-grade product development. This role is responsible for building and scaling secure, resilient, and high-performing platforms while integrating advanced AI capabilities into products, engineering workflows, and business operations.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical leadership with strong product and business alignment. They bring expertise inmodern software architecture, cloud-native platforms, enterprise integrations, data and AI systems, cybersecurity, and engineering excellence, and can translate emerging AI technologies into practical, scalable, and commercially valuable solutions.
This leader will oversee engineering teams, guide architecture decisions, improve delivery velocity, and champion adoption ofgenerative AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, and AI-assisted development practicesacross the product lifecycle.
About the Role: In this role as aDirector, Technology Engineeringyou will:
Technology Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute the technology vision for IDT product development aligned with business goals.
- Partner with product, design, security, data, and business leaders to shape scalable product roadmaps.
- Drive modernization of platforms, tools, and engineering practices to improve speed, quality, and resilience.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and establish adoption strategies for AI, cloud, automation, and enterprise platforms.
- Serve as a senior technical leader and trusted advisor to executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
Enterprise Product Development
- Lead the design, development, delivery, and lifecycle management of enterprise software products and platforms.
- Ensure products are scalable, secure, maintainable, compliant, and optimized for enterprise customers.
- Oversee architecture for distributed systems, APIs, edge compute , microservices, event-driven systems, and enterprise integrations.
- Build repeatable engineering processes for product delivery, release management, quality assurance, and supportability.
- Balance innovation with operational excellence, technical debt reduction, and long-term platform sustainability.
AI & Advanced Technology Enablement
- Define AI strategy for enterprise IDT products, includinggenerative AI, LLM-powered features, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), intelligent assistants, NLP, automation, and predictive analytics.
- Identify and prioritize AI use cases that improve customer value, internal efficiency, and product differentiation.
- Lead architecture decisions for AI-enabled products, including model orchestration, prompt engineering, vector databases, inference services, observability, evaluation, and governance.
- Establish best practices for responsible AI, including model quality, explainability, fairness, privacy, security, compliance, and human-in-the-loop controls.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools for coding, testing, documentation, incident response, and developer productivity.
- Partner with data and security teams to ensure production-grade AI systems are governed, scalable, and cost-effective.
Architecture & Engineering Excellence
- Own technical architecture standards and ensure alignment with enterprise scalability, reliability, and security requirements.
- Champion modern engineering practices including CI/CD, DevSecOps, SRE, automated testing, infrastructure as code, and observability.
- Improve engineering performance through metrics such as deployment frequency, lead time, defect escape rate, uptime, MTTR, and customer-impacting incidents.
- Guide decisions on buy vs. build, platform selection, technical risk, and investment priorities.
- Ensure strong documentation, architecture reviews, and technical design governance.
People Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering managers, architects, technical leads, and development teams.
- Build an inclusive, innovative, and accountable engineering culture.
- Support hiring, succession planning, skills development, and leadership coaching.
- Align teams to clear goals, delivery commitments, and measurable outcomes.
- Foster collaboration across product, design, QA, infrastructure, security, and data teams.
Stakeholder & Operational Management
- Communicate technology strategy, risks, tradeoffs, and progress to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage budgets, vendor relationships, technology investments, and capacity planning.
- Support enterprise customers, key implementations, escalations, and strategic initiatives as needed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, data governance, and security requirements relevant to the business domain.
About You: You’re fit for the role ofDirector, Technology Engineeringif your background includes:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, product engineering, or enterprise technology roles.
- 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles managing managers, architects, and cross-functional product teams.
- Proven experience deliveringenterprise software productsat scale in cloud-based environments.
- Strong expertise in modern software architecture, APIs, distributed systems, microservices, cloud platforms, and enterprise integrations.
- Experience leading Agile software delivery, DevOps transformation, and engineering process maturity.
- Hands-on understanding of AI/ML technologies and deployment patterns in enterprise environments.
- Strong business acumen and ability to connect technology decisions to customer outcomes and commercial value.
