About The Opportunity Griffith Base Hospital, part of the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD), is seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Specialist in General Medicine to join our dynamic team. As a Staff Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive, evidence-based medical services while contributing to the education and supervision of junior medical staff. About You You are a passionate and skilled physician with:
- Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia in General Medicine (or eligibility via an overseas trained specialist pathway).
- Recent clinical experience in General Medicine, ideally within a comparable service setting.
- A strong commitment to collaborative, multidisciplinary care and the ability to lead and inspire a clinical team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and proficiency in using clinical information systems.
- A dedication to teaching, research, and continuous improvement, with a focus on delivering safe, high-quality care.
- Availability to participate in the on-call roster and respond on-site as required.
- Alignment with the NSW Health CORE values—Collaboration, Openness, Respect, and Empowerment—and a commitment to the goals and strategies of MLHD.

- Holds registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Physician General Medicine and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Medicine at the role delineation of the service.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
- Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and MLHD Values, goals and strategies.
