About the role
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL POSTING
Priority shall be given to qualified Cree beneficiaries.
The Cree School Board is accepting applications for the summer student employment of an Office Assistant in Chisasibi.
NATURE OF WORK (Office Assistant)
The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in carrying out office work of a relatively routine nature in accordance with precise instructions, to support regular employees of the service.
CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS
The employee will be assigned to office work such as filing, photocopying, etc.
The employee may be required to operate various office machines currently in use, including the use of the in-house data system.
If need be, he performs any other related task.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a Secondary School Diploma or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.
Mandatory requirements:
- Be a JBNQA Beneficiary;
- Be at least 16 years of age;
- Have proof of student status.
Applications that do not include supporting documents will not be considered.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT
English is required;
Cree is an asset;
French is an asset.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
Full-time, temporary position.
Duration: For a maximum duration of sixteen (16) weeks, as per our summer schedule.

The Cree School Board (CSB) provides pre-school, elementary and secondary education to the James Bay Cree youth and supports Cree adults in their pursuit of post-secondary education, continuing education and vocational training.
As an independent First Nation school board recognized by the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport, it also develops programs and pedagogical materials in Cree, French and English following Quebec Education Program guidelines.
