This position is a hybrid role based in our Mississauga office with the opportunity to work 2 days remotely per week. Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and technically-astute leader to join as our Senior Manager, Master Data and Global Catalogs. This role is central to our data strategy, focused on leading a team to design, build, and operate a cutting-edge, real-time data platform for master data as part of Ingram Micro XVantageTM platform. You will spearhead the development of a unified data backbone that integrates critical business domains and business processes who need master data including product, vendor, pricing, customer, order, quote, invoices and finance. This role requires a deep passion for hands-on technical leadership, focusing on sophisticated data modeling, complex system integrations with legacy ERP and MDG platforms and business processes with forward looking integrations with internal and external systems to create a comprehensive data catalog powering our enterprise.
Responsibilities :
Platform Architecture & Development
- Lead the architecture and development of a scalable, low latency real-time data pipeline solution that serves as the central nervous system for our enterprise master data.
- Drive sophisticated data modeling efforts to create a cohesive, unified view of data across disparate business domains.
- Oversee the complex technical integration of data from core enterprise systems, including ERPs and Master Data Governance (MDG) platforms, into the central data pipeline.
- Champion the implementation and management of a comprehensive data catalog, ensuring all data is discoverable, understandable, and trusted by users across the company.
- Establish and enforce best practices for data engineering, including code quality, system performance, scalability, and data security.
- Technical Collaboration & Stakeholder Partnership
- Partner closely with business stakeholders in Product, Vendor, Finance, Sales Operations, and Supply Chain to deeply understand their data needs and deliver solutions that drive analytics and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders to ensure the data platform seamlessly supports application requirements and new product features with high-quality, real-time data.
- Serve as the key technical coordinator for data initiatives, translating business requirements into clear technical roadmaps and deliverables for your engineering team.
- Engage with enterprise architects and system owners to ensure a cohesive and non-disruptive integration strategy with our core transactional systems.
- Global Team Leadership & Execution
- Build, mentor, and lead a world-class team of data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of complex data projects, coordinating with teams across multiple geographies to ensure global consistency and successful execution.
- Define project priorities, manage resources, and oversee timelines to ensure your team is consistently delivering high-impact results.
What You Bring to the Role:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10 years of hands-on technical experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in leading high-performing engineering teams.
- Proven experience leading the design and construction of large-scale, low latency real-time data pipelines using technologies like PubSub, Kafka, Spark, Flink, or similar stream-processing frameworks.
- Deep expertise in data modeling for complex business domains and creating logical and physical data models that support analytics and operational use cases.
- Direct, hands-on experience leading complex integrations with enterprise systems like ERPs (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Master Data Governance (MDG) platforms.
- Experience implementing and managing enterprise data catalog solutions (e.g., Collibra, Alation, DataHub).
- Exceptional ability to partner with and influence a wide range of stakeholders, from business leaders to software engineers, across a global organization.
- Strong knowledge of both relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, and experience with cloud data platforms (GCP, Azure, or AWS).
