Job Description
A Staff Housing Maintenance person at the Fairmont Banff Springs is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of approximately 460 staff accommodation units. This role ensures the comfort, safety, and functionality of employee housing by coordinating daily maintenance tasks, and responding to service requests. The maintenance person has a critical role in preventive maintenance planning, asset management, and ensuring compliance with safety and building codes.
Starting Rate: $31.09 per hour based on experience & certifications.
Job Duties Include:
Reporting to the Staff Housing Management team, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following
- Provide professional, engaging, and friendly service while supporting the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of approximately 460 staff accommodation units in alignment with Fairmont standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and minor repairs across multiple trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and building systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Respond promptly to tenant maintenance requests, operational work orders, urgent maintenance issues, and system failures while coordinating access with the Staff Housing Office and minimizing disruption to tenants.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records within the CMMS (Transcendent) system, monitor inventory and supplies, support contractors and skilled trades, and assist with installations, retrofits, and repair projects as required.
- Adhere to all Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures while maintaining clean and organized work areas, reporting hazards or deficiencies, and fostering positive working relationships with colleagues and other departments.
Qualifications
Your Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a large commercial building or similar environment
- Experience in multiple trades, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs
- Building Operator Certificate or Maintenance Technician certification is an asset
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building operations Familiarity with CMMS, energy management, and building automation systems
- Valid Canadian driver’s license required
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Highly organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities
