General Description:
The Human Resources Manager acts as a strategic business partner who will provide consulting services, representation, support and advice for complex labour and employment related matters. Reporting directly to the Director of HR, they will play a critical role in driving initiatives that enhance organizational performance and support key HR operations. This role is ideal for a forward-thinking, relationship-driven HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels in stakeholder management, strategic HR planning, and complex employee relations matters.
Summary of Position:

Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior leaders and cross-functional teams.

Serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders on workforce planning, talent management, organizational development, and other HR-related initiatives.

Initiate and lead strategic HR projects that drive performance, engagement, and culture, ensuring alignment with department and company goals

Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution

Analyze talent data and trends to inform strategic decisions related to hiring, retention, and team development

Create a culture of fair treatment and positive employee relations.

Promote, foster and sustain an open door policy to HR services: administration and interpretation of human resources policies, procedures, employment equity and compliance in all labour practices related to Employment and Compensation, Personnel Management, Labour Relations–Management, Legal, MOL, ESA and Human Rights matters, from inquiry to resolution.

Responsible for administration of new hires.

Oversee HR audits, reporting, and internal compliance activities

Provide support on HRIS-related projects and enhancements, ensuring data accuracy, system efficiency, and reporting capabilities.

Assist with system testing, implementation, and user training where applicable.

Lead and support employee relations matters including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions in alignment with legal requirements and company policy.

Use HR metrics to track trends (turnover, engagement, recruitment) and recommend solutions.

Manage and assist with escalated HR cases, including those involving complex employee issues or sensitive topics. Collaborate with legal, compliance, and other departments as needed to mitigate risk.

Support and/or facilitate Bargaining unit meetings such as Negotiations, Collective Agreement disputes, grievances and Labour Relations workplace violations.

Assess and prepare outgoing correspondence related to unresolved or incoming claims: Employment, Terminations, Human Rights and Labour Standards

Assist and provide guidance to the recruitment, selection and on-boarding process to the Corporate Recruiter and or VP of HR as required.

Support employee recognition, engagement, and communication initiatives.

Provide a full range of services in varying HR and personnel related topics as required.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree / certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Certification in HR (e.g., CHRP) is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in HR, with a proven track record in management and strategic HR initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems and reporting (UKG preferred)
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR practices, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience in employee engagement initiatives and organizational development.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Compensation: $60,000 - $95,000/yr
Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check.
