Role Overview
Smart City Water (SCW) is hiring a Marketing Associate to help expand VO (Visual OTTHYMO) into the U.S. market.
VO is hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software used by engineering consultants, municipalities, and watershed agencies to analyze stormwater systems and support infrastructure planning.
This role focuses on research, marketing campaign execution, and lead generation.
You will work with technical material related to stormwater modelling and water resources engineering, translating it into clear and useful marketing content.
Work Structure

6-month contract, with potential extension

Hybrid schedule: 2 days in office, 3 days remote; Could be asked to come into the office as needed. Occasional periods of full in-office work may be required

Office location: Woodbridge, Ontario

Reports to: VO Business Unit Manager
Key Responsibilities
Research & Lead Generation

Conduct research on U.S. states (initial focus: TX, NY, PA, MI, OH)
-
Identify engineering consultants, municipalities, watershed authorities, and regulators
-
Research organizations using modelling tools such as SWMM, HEC-HMS, MIKE SHE, or similar platforms
-
Build structured lead lists and maintain accurate CRM records
Marketing Campaign Execution

Support the development of landing pages and marketing campaigns
-
Draft structured email sequences targeting:
- Engineering consultants
- Municipal reviewers
- Agencies and regulators
-
Launch campaigns and track engagement
-
Route qualified leads to the Business Manager
Social Media
- Prepare weekly content for LinkedIn and X
- Translate technical VO material into clear educational posts

General Marketing Support

Support the VO Business Unit’s Marketing Made Simple strategy

Contribute to other marketing initiatives when needed

An engineering background is not required, but comfort working with technical content is important.

Compensation
-
$27–$33 CAD per hour

30–40 hours per week

Performance reviews at 30 and 90 days
Candidates with strong CRM, campaign execution, research, or lead generation experience may be considered toward the top of the range.
Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a brief skills assignment.
