Objectives of the mission: You will act as a key player in our Product Development and Modularization (PD&M) team, based in Saint-Bruno, Québec, to support our Product Development & Management business process owner (BPO) in the development of artifacts to be used across-Alstom Rolling Stock & Component (RSC) site activities.

Specific mission responsibilities: As part of your position, you will be called upon to:

  • Create a complete PD&M Sharepoint site public to Alstom staff by:

  • Eliciting information requirements

  • Creating mock-up of the site based on user interface best practices for review

  • Defining a role and responsibilities management for access control

  • Developing KPI to monitor site usage and usefulness

  • Developing, documenting and maintaining the site

Note: The site will act the entry point to the Alstom RSC Product Development & Management process asset library.

  • Integrate a Python-based ‘Design Structure Matrix (DSM) Clustering Tool’ into latest Excel edition for improving application usability. Assess feasibility to improve the application by using parallel computing.
  • Support Alstom RSC Digital Acceleration team in data quality assessment of our variability models and usage as done in Alstom RSC PLEiADE variability management tool
  • Support PD&M BPO in the enhancement of the Product Development & Management process asset library (SIPOC, templates, checklists, guidelines, etc.)

Depending on the volume of work and the candidate's skills, the mission may evolve during the mandate with the addition of tasks related to the métier of product development and management.

Qualifications As our ideal candidate:

  • Completed bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science
  • Master's degree student in product management
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act professionally.
  • Be focused on action and results and teamwork.
  • Have an eye for detail and have very good communications skills.
  • Demonstrated software programming skills using Python
  • In-depth knowledge of IT tools (Excel, Microsoft Sharepoint /Teams);
  • Bilingualism spoken and written in English and French.

Contract: Internship contract for a period of 6 months.
