Power Platform Developer
About the role
*Contract-to-Hire Opportunity*
Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Power Platform Developer position! This is an 8+ month contract-to-hire opportunity and can be hybrid in Toronto or Ottawa. This role will be an employee of Lighthouse Technology Services during the contract period.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design and build advanced Canvas and Model-Driven Power Apps
- Develop and manage Power Automate flows for business process automation
- Create and maintain Dataflows for data ingestion and transformation
- Architect and manage Dataverse tables, relationships, and metadata
- Implement and manage security roles, field-level security, and user access controls
- Package and deploy solutions using Power Platform Solutions for ALM
- Integrate Power Apps with external data sources (SQL, SharePoint, APIs, etc.)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions
- Monitor app performance and usage, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements
- Ensure compliance with governance policies and best practices
- Provide mentorship to junior developers and citizen developers
- Drive continuous improvement in app performance, usability, and system integration
- Collaborate closely with solution architects for scalable, maintainable designs
- Facilitate backlog grooming sessions, translating business requirements into actionable user stories and technical tasks
What You’ll Need to Have:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Power Platform, APIs, Azure Functions, and AWS
- Expert-level proficiency in Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven) and Power Fx
- Strong experience with Power Automate and complex flow logic
- Deep understanding of Dataverse architecture, table design, and data modeling
- Experience with Power Apps Dataflows and scheduled data transformations
- Familiarity with security roles, permissions, and governance best practices
- Solution management, versioning, and deployment strategies
- Integration with Microsoft 365, Azure, and third-party services
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Experience in data transformation, table management, and data mapping
Nice to Have:
- Microsoft Power Platform certifications
- Experience with Power BI, Azure Logic Apps, or custom connectors
- Background in AWS and Amazon SQS
- Exposure to DevOps practices and tools
- Operational background (e.g., experience as a cashier, bartender, etc.)
- Knowledge of JSON, REST/SOAP, Python, C++, or SQL
Pay Range: $35-$40/hr CAD
