We are expanding our Finance team and are looking for a motivated Accounting Specialist, Payroll & Accounts Payable who will be instrumental in building and leading our growing function. Position Overview
The Accounting Specialist, Payroll and Accounts Payable is a critical part of the Finance team, taking on a key role for the business in day-to-day accounting operations and full-cycle payroll processing.

This position is based out of our FBC Calgary location. You will be expected to work onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Record journal entries and reconcile accounts using Great Plains accounting software.
- Process payroll in adherence with federal and provincial regulations.
- Review and schedule payments in accordance with vendor terms and conditions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closings, including financial report preparation.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Support Accounts Payable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Collaborate with team members on ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks.
- Contribute to key projects as required.
What You Bring
Education and Experience
- 3+ years experience in full-cycle payroll processing and accounts payable.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or Payroll designation (PCP, CPM) is an asset.
- Proficiency in payroll and accounting systems; experience with Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- In- depth knowledge of Sales Tax, and Canadian payroll regulations.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll processing systems and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, and data analysis).
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
