Component Planner Analyst

At SMS Equipment, we’re passionate about keeping heavy equipment running and our customers moving forward. We’re looking for a Component Planning Analyst to join our Fort McMurray team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring component inventory is available when and where it’s needed — supporting efficient operations, minimizing downtime, and helping us deliver on our commitment to service excellence.
Location: Fort McMurray, AB
Salary: $73,000 - $ 78,000
Your Role
- Monitor component inventory and forecast future requirements to meet operational and customer needs.
- Analyze usage trends, rebuild schedules, and historical data to optimize stock levels.
- Identify and address gaps or constraints in component supply, working with planners and suppliers to find proactive solutions.
- Coordinate with internal teams and remanufacturing facilities to align schedules and priorities.
- Prepare and maintain accurate reports and performance metrics related to inventory, forecasting, and component performance.
- Support initiatives to improve processes, accuracy, efficiency, and cost control.
- Assist with day-to-day component control activities, including transfers, returns, and reconciliations.
What You Bring
- Post-secondary education in business administration, supply chain, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory, planning, or supply chain coordination role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
