Job Overview
Working under general direction from the Production Supervisors, the Specialized Production Worker is responsible for working in both injection and blow-molding production areas to manufacture products based on specifications. Moreover, they are responsible for completing testing, sub-assembly and assembly duties on all finished products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate automated or semi-automated machinery designated to manufacture components
- Receive parts from machinery and monitor product quality on an ongoing basis, ensuring product meets the minimum product quality standards
- Weigh-count parts, then package into mini totes
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with all production documentation found at Quality Stations
- Complete all quality testing, sub-assembly and assembly on all products as instructed by the Production Supervisor, including de-flashing/cutting and packaging
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, and ensure safety throughout the plant
- Perform other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Able to read, and communicate verbally and in writing in the English language
- Able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Able to troubleshoot with a sense of urgency
- Must be mechanically inclined, with strong attention to details
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, time management and documentation skills
- Proven interpersonal skills and team oriented with the ability to work within a diverse workplace
Education and Experience
- Requires a high school diploma
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in injection and/or blow-molding plastics manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a fast-paced and highly changing environment with limited supervision
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Work conditions are consistent with a manufacturing plant environment. The Specialized Production Worker must meet a height requirement of 5 ft 7 in (170 cm), and requires a moderate degree of physical fitness, as the role requires them to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. They will be required to stand, reach and climb for some periods throughout the shift. They must also be able to work near moving mechanical machinery and must be able to work in an environment with high noise levels (hearing protection required).
