Position Summary We are seeking a visionary and strategic Senior Director of Solutions Architecture to lead a global team of architects and technologists. This role is critical in shaping Altera’s customer-facing technical strategy, driving adoption of our FPGA and SoC solutions, and aligning architecture with customer needs across verticals such as cloud, networking, automotive, and industrial.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and scale a high-performing global Solutions Architecture team.
- Define and execute the architectural vision aligned with Altera’s product roadmap and customer requirements.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Sales to influence product direction and go-to-market strategies.
- Customer Engagement
- Serve as a senior technical advisor to strategic customers and partners.
- Drive technical pre-sales engagements, solution design, and proof-of-concept development.
- Ensure customer success through deep technical alignment and post-sales support strategies.
- Innovation & Enablement
- Champion the development of reference architectures, design patterns, and reusable IP.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to guide architectural decisions.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with engineering to influence product features and roadmap based on customer feedback.
- Work closely with marketing to develop technical content, whitepapers, and solution briefs.
- Represent Altera at industry events, conferences, and customer briefings.
Qualifications Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; PhD is a plus.
- 15+ years of experience in technical leadership roles, including architecture, systems engineering, or solutions development.
- Deep expertise in FPGAs, SoCs, embedded systems, or high-performance computing.
- Proven track record of leading global technical teams and engaging with enterprise customers.
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate technical solutions into business value.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in verticals such as data center, 5G/telecom, automotive, or industrial automation.
- Familiarity with AI/ML acceleration, RTL design, HLS, or hardware/software co-design.
- Prior experience in a semiconductor or programmable logic company.
