The Application Developer APEX will work closely with Business Analysts to evaluate user requirements for new or modified reports and accurately convert the specification provided into high quality reports.

What You’ll Do

  • Periodically review status of assigned tasks, consult with business experts and peers and provide regular status reports to manager.
  • Perform the full range of programming, testing and debugging.
  • Write units tests, functional test and developer integration tests.
  • Design, develop, test and deploy and implement robust, resilient and secure code with following industry approved coding practices from frameworks including OWASP, NIST, SDLC and PCI DSS.
  • Follow change control processes and adhere to internal policies and procedures.
  • Track, and record, daily activities. Provide weekly reports.
  • Use internal applications to complete development assignments such as Microsoft Outlook, JIRA and Microsoft Word.
  • Assist with resolving production problems and user calls.
  • Collaborate with other application development team members.
  • Carry out special projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Software Development, or a related field at a recognized University or College.
  • Basic understanding of software development concepts and an interest in learning the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Willingness to learn and apply industry-standard development and security practices (such as OWASP, SDLC principles).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Enthusiastic, curious, and motivated to grow technical skills in a professional software development environment

Desired Skills

  • Exposure to, or coursework related to, Oracle APEX and/or Oracle SQL is preferred. Hands-on project or academic experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with databases, SQL queries, or backend concepts through coursework, labs, or personal projects.
  • Experience using tools such as Microsoft Outlook, JIRA, or Microsoft Word through school, co-op, or project work is an asset.
