Your Opportunity: An opportunity exists for someone to join our team of Medical Radiation Tech IIs (MRT IIs). This is a CT opportunity on a seven-on/seven-off evening rotation. The ideal candidate is a proven team player with excellent interpersonal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and openly with staff and management while contributing to a positive and engaged workplace. Description: The Medical Radiation Technologist II (MRT) performs all routine radiographic/fluoroscopic, computed tomography and interventional procedures, and may work in a specialized area and/or coordinate daily work activities of the MRT team. The MRT II also produces radiographs of high diagnostic quality in an efficient and safe manner while attending to the diagnostic and care needs of patients undergoing diagnostic/therapeutic procedures. The MRT II is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

    Required Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Graduate of a recognized Medical Radiation Technologist program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) required. BLS (Level C - Health Care Provider) required.

    Additional Required Qualifications: Proven team player with an ongoing record of excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and openly with staff and management. Previous computed tomography experience required. Self-motivated with strong organizational skills. Must possess a high degree of confidentially. High level of flexibility, adaptability and interpersonal skills, whilst exhibiting the highest level of professionalism. Proven ability to work under pressure within a team in emergency situations. Able to assess patient capabilities and limitations and make adjustments as necessary. Able to provide leadership and motivation in routine and non-routine situations. Exercise good judgment in the selection and application of technical factors.

    Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years' experience as a Radiological Technologist I in a medium to large hospital (200-500 beds) preferred. Experience with PEI, connect care, Siemens scanner.
