Role Summary:
The Data Engineer plays a critical role in advancing enterprise-wide data initiatives and enabling self-service analytics. This position blends deep technical expertise with strong business engagement, focusing on the design and development of scalable data pipelines and the delivery of insights through modern BI tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.
Working closely with business stakeholders, the Data Engineer translates analytical needs into robust data solutions and ensures teams are empowered with trusted, accessible data to support informed decision-making.
Role Responsibilities:

- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support analytics and reporting.
- Serve as a key liaison between business units and the Data & Analytics CoE, translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.
- Promote data literacy and self-service analytics across the organization.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across systems and platforms.
- Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business leaders to support strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to data architecture and modeling discussions to support enterprise analytics.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
-
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with data pipeline tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, dbt, dbt Cloud, Apache Airflow).
- Proficiency in at least one BI tool (Power BI, Looker, Tableau) with experience in dashboard development and data modeling.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages is an asset.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices in data engineering is an asset.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices is an asset..
- Experience working in a Center of Excellence or similar enterprise-wide data function is an asset..

The Compensation Range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. Please note that the actual compensation may vary depending on location and job-related factors such as qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills. If the compensation structure for the role includes an incentive component (ie. most Sales roles) the range below represents total target compensation (TTC) (base salary + variable).
