Opportunity AIMCo's Information Technology Service Desk team is seeking a Co-op Student to assist with projects designed to improve processes at AIMCo while challenging the student's analytical, organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the Service Desk day-to-day operations which involve dealing with hands-on Information Technology problems.
- Assist with Evergreen project including planning and deployment strategies.
- Assist with IT asset tracking and inventory management of IT equipment and peripherals.
- Installing, configuring and upgrading operating systems and software.
- Log, track, and update service requests in the ticketing system.
- Assist in troubleshooting basic IT hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly and professionally with end-users.
- Embraces accountability, enhanced decision making and integrity to deliver on our cultural commitment of Doing Business the Right Way.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Undergraduate or master’s student enrolled in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Enrolled in a work experience/internship program
- Previous experience in a Customer Service role is advantageous
- In depth knowledge of computer hardware
- In depth knowledge of front office software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc)
- Understanding of Active Directory is an asset
- Experience with a ticketing system is an asset
- Experience in an IT support role will be considered an asset
Success Measures The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills throughout their term and been able to work well in a team environment while working collaboratively with their team colleagues and AIMCo employees. They will have gained experience within the Service Desk team also while being exposed to the other Technology departments at AIMCo.
This position is open to candidates who are willing to relocate to Alberta, and we encourage all interested individuals to apply.
