DuroByte is currently seeking a Controller to join its team in Windsor, Ontario. Reporting directly to the President, this is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the full accounting function across multiple entities while supporting the company's continued growth and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, bring a strong foundation in accounting and financial management, and enjoy building structure, improving processes, and driving continuous improvement.
YOUR DAY TO DAY
Oversee full-cycle accounting activities across multiple Canadian and U.S. entities. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, general ledger activities, and month-end close processes. Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and supporting analysis for leadership. Support intercompany accounting, transfers, and multi-currency transactions between Canadian and U.S. operations. Monitor cash flow, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and provide insights to support business decisions. Support project-based accounting, including work-in-progress (WIP) tracking, job costing, and project profitability reporting. Improve accounting processes, financial controls, and reporting procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, banks, and other professional advisors as required. Assist with accounting system enhancements, reporting automation, and future implementation initiatives. Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to identify opportunities for financial and operational improvements.
What You Bring
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a senior accounting, Accounting Manager, Controller, or similar role. Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, payroll, reconciliations, and general accounting principles. Experience managing multiple entities, business units, or complex accounting environments. Experience with project-based accounting, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, job costing, or manufacturing accounting is considered an asset. Exposure to Canadian and U.S. accounting environments, intercompany transactions, or multi-currency accounting is an asset. Experience with QuickBooks and other accounting systems is preferred. CPA designation is welcomed but not required; equivalent experience and demonstrated capability will be strongly considered. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
