Role Description The Lead Painter is a full-time, on-site role based in Vancouver, BC, responsible for overseeing painting projects from preparation through final walkthrough. Day-to-day tasks include surface preparation, priming, painting, and applying finishes according to project specifications and safety standards. The Lead Painter coordinates the work of painting crew members, assigns tasks, and monitors progress to ensure timelines and quality expectations are met. Responsibilities also include reading and interpreting work orders, selecting appropriate materials and coatings, maintaining tools and equipment, and ensuring work areas are kept organized and safe. The Lead Painter communicates with supervisors and clients as needed, provides guidance to less experienced painters, and helps maintain Crest Painting’s quality and customer service standards. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Paint handling and general Painting techniques. Candidates should possess skills in Painting and Decorating for both interior and exterior projects. Candidates should possess experience with Coatings, including selecting and applying appropriate products for different surfaces. Candidates should possess proficiency in Spray Painting and other application methods. Demonstrated experience as a lead or senior painter on residential or commercial projects. Knowledge of workplace safety practices, including ladder and scaffold use, PPE, and safe material handling. Ability to read and follow job plans, color specifications, and manufacturer instructions. Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to coordinate a small crew effectively. Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, and working at heights, with or without reasonable accommodation. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in the Vancouver area preferred.
