Job type: Full-time, Permanent
Compensation: $20 - 25/hr.
Shift & Schedule: Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:00pm (On-Call Rotation)
Location: Stony plain, AB.

Role Overview:
As the Facilities Maintenance Assistant at IHACSS, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and preservation of our properties. From maintaining HVAC systems to landscaping, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks aimed at supporting the achievement of our business goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning and appearance of buildings and properties. This includes the upkeep of HVAC systems, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Support the daily operations of the Maintenance Department while working in coordination with the IHAC Maintenance Manager to achieve departmental goals.
- Conduct landscaping duties and snow removal to uphold the aesthetic and safety standards of the properties.
- Attend meetings as required, complete all necessary reports accurately, and address safety concerns proactively.
- Schedule, monitor, and coordinate contractor activities for various projects. This includes organizing vendor services and attending service appointments to ensure timely and efficient completion.
- Review and follow equipment manuals, perform preventive maintenance, and manage inventory to ensure the smooth functioning of tools and equipment.
- Execute a range of maintenance-related tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, and minor construction work, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Participate in project management activities related to new construction, renovations, and updates to existing systems to meet organizational needs.
- Be prepared to participate in an on-call rotation, with availability after standard working hours as required.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in diverse environments, both indoors and outdoors.
- Travel to multiple site and off-site locations as needed
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed safety boots and safety glasses.
- Recognize and mitigate potential hazards associated with the trade.
- Maintain a professional appearance with attire that includes cotton-fiber shirts and pants, along with steel-toed safety footwear.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in building operations and maintenance.
- Proven ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to utilize online maintenance platforms and digital tools proficiently.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Physical capability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
- First Aid skills and certifications are considered an asset.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong project management skills to oversee and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills to address maintenance challenges with efficiency.
