The normal work schedule is on a rotation of 4 weeks: 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 2 weeks of rest.

responsibilities
Reporting to Mine Senior Geologists, the technician will mainly carry out mapping, excavation monitoring and grade control as well as pit or underground surveys. He will have the opportunity to process, integrate and interpret all geological data in order to identify new prospective areas. He will be working both open pit and underground. The mine geology technician will be responsible for:
- Assisting the supervisors in all the Company’s operations;
- Work in collaboration with the geologists for developing Company’s open pit and underground mines;
- Grade control open pit and underground;
- Participate in targeted sampling campaigns;
- Prepare samples for shipment to the mine laboratory;
- Participate in mapping, data entry and data validation;
- Assist in preparation and interpretation of assay results;
- Design the mineralized zones / ore blocks and participate to 3 D modeling ore bodies;
- Perform any other tasks required by the supervisor in order to give a good assistance to the mine operations.
Qualifications
- The candidate should have a college diploma (DEC) in mining technology, geology option or equivalent;
- Have 0 to 2 years of professional experience in mining geology or exploration;
- Hold a valid driving license class 5;
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Suite software;
- Facility in Surpac and Deswik (an asset);
- FMTM mining modules 1,2,3,4,5,7 (an asset);
- Hold a general explosive permit;
- Bilingualism in French and English and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
