Location: St-Lambert, QC

Assignment: Temporary during the training, with benefits

Salary range: $32.52 - $49.68 per hour

Hours of work: 80 hours per two-week period, on 12-hour rotating shifts

Your Responsibilities

  • Successfully complete the Marine Traffic Controller training program, lasting 18 to 24 months;
  • Plan and execute transit activities while safely operating remote structures, including locks, bridges, and weirs;
  • Coordinate locking operations and determine vessel entry maneuvers;
  • Monitor and regulate water levels and flow to ensure safe navigation;
  • Initiate response to accidents, incidents, and pollution events and assist emergency agencies as required;
  • Record and maintain transit data accurately in electronic systems;
  • Apply safe work methods and perform all activities related to the security of operational facilities;
  • Participate in the mooring of vessels as needed.

Your profile

  • College Diploma or University Degree;
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a related capacity, such as in dispatching, scheduling, logistics, security;
  • Strong analytical abilities with accurate judgment and effective decision-making;
  • Proficiency in applicable computer programs and other related software (MS Office et SAP);
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written, in order to safely ensure the operational flow of vessels and pleasure craft transiting through the Seaway;
  • Valid Class G (ON) or Class 5 (QC) driver's license and insurable driving record;
  • Eligible for Marine Transportation Security Clearance;
  • Ability to work on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule;
  • Availability to undergo a medical test, functional abilities evaluation and drugs test.
