Location Address: 100 Queens Quay East, 9th Floor, Toronto Number of Openings: 1 Pay: $106,911.00 - $205,213.00 Job Posting Description: This is an onsite role #LI-Onsite Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice across the LCBO’s operations with a specific focus on supporting the IT division. Responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, providing strategic legal advice, and delivering pragmatic business-oriented solutions. About the Role Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements including, but not limited to, master services agreements, software license & support agreements, software-as-a-service agreements, purchase agreements and related transactional documents such as statements of work, order forms, purchase orders, and terms of use. Providing advice on matters relating to data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI. Working closely with LCBO’s business units and indirect procurement team to review procurement and related transaction documents including requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for quotes (RFQs). Supporting the LCBO’s IT and indirect procurement teams on contractual interpretation, supplier disputes, legal risks and mitigation strategies associated with third party contracts. Providing cross-division support to the LCBO’s marketing, retail operations, finance, supply chain & logistics, and corporate affairs teams by identifying and managing potential areas of legal risk. About You Must-Have’s: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. Minimum of 4 years of post-call experience gained from a top-tier law firm and/or large in-house legal department. Broad and extensive commercial experience in an in-house environment supporting various business stakeholders including IT. Nice-To-Have’s: Experience working in a regulated industry and/or public-sector preferred. Substantive knowledge in beverage-alcohol regulations, cybersecurity, privacy (FIPPA), and AI an asset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, pragmatism, and the ability to build relationships with colleagues and internal clients. Strong business acumen, the ability to work independently, analytical capabilities, and a strategic mindset. Experience managing multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines.
