Where You’ll Make a Difference Every Day
As a Plant Electrician – Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP), you’ll be part of a high-impact team transforming wastewater into clean water for all. Our team is committed to protecting the integrity of the environment by providing primary and secondary wastewater treatment, phosphorus and ammonia removal and sludge digestion for the City of Thunder Bay. We provide innovative and cost-effective ways to sustain and manage our wastewater treatment process.

How You’ll Impact the Community
As a Plant Electrician at the City of Thunder Bay Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP), you will:
- Participate in the Plant’s facility maintenance system and recommend changes or modifications to such systemsPlan, install, repair, maintain, connect, test electrical fixtures, apparatus, control equipment and wiring for systems of alarm, communication, light, heat, and power in buildings or other structures.
- Purchase equipment, material and parts required and recommend spare parts for inventory.
- Perform the duties of an Operator or Lead of Electrical when required.
- Recommend changes to existing systems and equipment.

What You Bring to the Team
- Grade 12 or equivalent as per the Ministry of Environment certification guidelines
- Red Seal Industrial Electrician (442A) or Red Seal Electrician – Construction (309A) & Maintenance
- Must have proven experience with Programmable Logic Controllers, SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) systems
- Fire Alarm Endorsement would be desirable
