About the role
Job Summary Conduct field inspections of buildings and civil structures to verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and approved plans. Prepare clear inspection reports and coordinate with project teams and contractors to address non‑compliance issues. Number of Positions 5 Main Duties Perform scheduled and on‑demand inspections at various stages of construction to assess workmanship, materials, and adherence to approved drawings. Review construction plans, specifications, permits, and change orders to confirm alignment with regulatory requirements. Identify code violations, unsafe conditions, and deviations from project documents and recommend corrective actions. Take measurements, photographs, and samples as required and conduct basic field tests to verify material and installation quality. Prepare and maintain detailed written inspection reports, logs, and records for projects and communicate findings to stakeholders. Coordinate with contractors, engineers, permitting authorities, and project managers to follow up on required remedial work and re‑inspections. Requirements Post‑secondary diploma or degree in construction technology, civil engineering technology, architecture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum two years of practical experience in construction, building inspection, or a related role. Working knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and construction regulations. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and permit documents. Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and stakeholder interaction. Ability to work on construction sites, including comfort with outdoor work and travel between project locations.
