(35 hours per week) Located in Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario is one of the largest art museums in North America, attracting approximately one million visitors annually. The AGO Collection of more than 120,000 works of art ranges from cutting-edge contemporary art to significant works by Indigenous and Canadian artists and European masterpieces.
We are currently seeking a Manager, Network Systems & Security to join our Information Technology team. Under the direction of the Director, Information Technology, the incumbent will be tasked with overseeing the architecture and operations of the AGO’s network, wireless and firewall infrastructure ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves the strategic planning, design, and implementation of network architecture, including the management of both physical and virtual network infrastructures. The manager also oversees the integration and maintenance of cloud services with existing on-premises infrastructure. This role involves directly working with the Director, Information Technology to develop and implement technology strategies.
What is this position responsible for?
- Oversee the administration the Gallery’s LAN, WAN and associated devices/systems (wired and wireless); installs and configures new hardware, software and peripherals, implements network security measures and procedures, conducts monitoring and maintenance including system audits.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert responsible for deep understanding of network security protocols, configurations and data flow necessary to ensure confidentiality of client information and compliance with applicable standards and procedures.
- Review network utilization and performance trends, recommend future requirements to maintain acceptable performance levels and accommodate traffic growth.
- Assesses and oversee security requirements for departmental or user data; recommends and implements appropriate security levels. Provides users with shared environments for directories and peripherals.
- As directed, participates in the determination of gallery-wide network and computer system requirements; participates in vendor review and selection as requested.
- Develops and maintains comprehensive documentation, records system configurations, and assists in the development of policies and procedures for network systems, devices, servers and security levels.
What are we looking for?
A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive responsibilities in Network systems and security including experience with:
- Direct, hands-on experience with network infrastructure (wired and wireless), firewalls, network services, and security products.
- Network communications hardware and software. Direct experience with HP Procurve, Aruba and Fortinet network equipment is essential.
- LAN/WAN support and administration in a Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra environment.
- The following platforms and operating systems: Windows 2019 Server and above, Microsoft 365, Windows Desktop, OS X, HPE Aruba Networking Central, Aruba OS and Linux.
- Internet security and routing protocols, security monitoring, administration of SNMP, QOS, DNS, FTP, DHCP, web proxies, VPN and email services, patch administration, change management, log management, and general support and troubleshooting.
Other Requirements:
- Solid understanding of PCI compliance standards, common vulnerabilities associated with networks, operating systems and applications.
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience VoIP telephony, preferably in an Avaya environment. Familiarity with PBX systems and SIP telephony is beneficial.
- Well-developed verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
