Inventory Control Specialist- Mississauga, Ontario- Canada
About the role
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Specialist. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring compliance with established procedures, and facilitating inventory-related processes including e-commerce returns and vendor returns. Reporting to the Director of Merchandising and Wholesale Management, the successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in inventory systems, cross-functional communication, and process documentation. This position requires a strong understanding of inventory control principles within a retail and wholesale footwear environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Director of Merchandising and Wholesale Management
- Ensure departmental procedures, policies, and processes are followed
- Process e-commerce returns for Canadian business units
- Assist in coordinating inventory control activities as requested
- Monitor cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate inventory transactions, including purchase order (PO) adjustments when necessary
- Investigate, analyze, and direct inventory adjustments with proper documentation based on the type of error, maintaining balance between the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Jesta
- Facilitate Return to Vendor (RTV) processes for Canadian sites and business units, including aging reports for store transfers and interdepartmental communication at each step
Key Job Functions

- Comfortable using email and Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel
- Ability to learn, navigate, and understand additional software systems, including Jesta and Cognos BI queries related to inventory control
- Strong math skills – comfortable working with numbers
- High attention to detail
- Able to occasionally lift 40–50 lbs
- Self-starter with ability to follow written instructions and procedures
- Capable of documenting and monitoring work processes
- Able to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization

- Tools: computer terminal, printers
- Materials handled: boxes, shoes, accessories, paper
- Work environment: climate-controlled warehouse and office
Physical And Environmental Requirements
- Warehouse activity as needed – walking to various locations
- Office activity: workstation with computer terminal, photocopiers
- Accident risk: minimal to none
Education And Experience Requirements
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) required
- Microsoft/Windows experience
- 1–2 years of preferred experience in inventory control and/or accounting
