About the role

The Project Manager leads cross-functional capital and process improvement initiatives at the Rutherglen site, supporting safe, reliable, and cost-effective manufacturing operations.

  • Lead capital, process improvement, and new product improvement projects from initiation through close-out.
  • Research and define capital projects to sustain, modernize, and improve plant operations.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates to support annual and long-range capital budgeting.
  • Supervise capital project execution ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to specification.
  • Manage RFQs, vendor selection, contractor coordination, commissioning, and start-ups.
  • Ensure all contractors comply with CFP’s Contractor Safety Program and site safety rules.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations.
  • Support Maintenance initiatives related to green end equipment and core process reliability.
  • Assist with development and execution of preventative maintenance programs for key production equipment.
  • Lead major equipment rebuilds and planned outages, as assigned.
  • Manage variable expense spending, approve purchase orders, and track costs to appropriate accounts.
  • Provide regular project status updates and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Support training, documentation, and change management tied to new equipment and processes.
  • Complete work orders and provide hands-on support during critical plant events as required.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations, or related field.

  • 2–3 years of project management experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.

  • Experience managing capital projects and contractor-driven work.

  • Strong working knowledge of project scheduling and cost tracking tools.

  • Ability to work extended hours or respond to plant emergencies when required.

  • On-site industrial environment with regular time on the plant floor.

  • Occasional evenings, weekends, or call-ins during shutdowns, commissioning, or breakdowns.
