This position is responsible for the areas of procurement, finance, business operations, specified software and hardware asset management, inventory control and contract management for the Infrastructure Division of IT Shared Services. This individual must provide advice in the establishment and maintenance of appropriate policies, procedures and systems for all aspects of asset life-cycle management. This position monitors business objectives and team performance and ensures that the services provided fit within the strategic direction of IT Shared Services and the needs of their clients.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the advising on the implementation and completing maintenance of an inventory/asset management system pertaining to hardware and software licensing;
- Auditing of inventory and asset management system to ensure proper recording of changes, additions and removals of equipment and licenses;
- Identifying opportunities for maximizing or exploiting unused or partially used assets;
- Researching industry best practices and compare against government practices in order to establish benchmarks for managing IT assets;
- Monitoring budget expenditures for trend analysis through Business Intelligence Dashboards as well as reporting and escalating discrepancies or deviations;
- Facilitating infrastructure staff in the delivery of IT asset management and procurement policy, procedures and systems;
- Maintain an Approved Software list for annual review and approval by Enterprise Architecture;
- Developing, establishing, implementing, and enforcing supplier guidelines, obligations, and service level agreements to the organization;
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree in Business Administration or Computer Science.
- Demonstrated equivalencies may be considered.
- Extensive experience in asset management, contact management, procurement for IT technologies.
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Technical acumen to understand and interpret technical requirements
- Solid working knowledge of current IT technologies.
- Advanced knowledge of leasing, budgeting, inventory and cost management skills. Knowledge of accounting, finance and logistics.
- Ability to plan strategically.
- Must be detail oriented with strong time management ability.
- Ability to define, monitor and report infrastructure usage to senior management and client managers.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate tasks for both staff and other teams within government.
- Ability to implement problem solving skills in order to make effective decisions and recommendations.
- Ability to analyze situations that may affect a small group of people or all of government and make recommendations.
- Ability to work with various levels of government, including those at the senior management level, in order to implement change.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous projects, problems, or tasks with critical deadlines and produce quality results.
- Work requires ability to gather and interpret data from different sources and use strong analytical skills to resolve complex problems.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic and technical leadership skills.
- Mentors others as necessary.
- Can skillfully navigate tough situations both internally and externally.
Other Qualifications:
- Additional accounting and computer training would be an asset.
