About this role: (reporting to Executive Director)
The Program Manager provides leadership and direct day-to-day management to WCK’s program coordinators. This role ensures the successful delivery and continuous improvement of WCK’s family-facing programs and volunteer initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Manager drives program development and evaluation, manages staff performance and collaboration, and ensures all efforts align with WCK’s mission and strategic goals.
Program Leadership and Development
- Support program coordinators in delivering high-impact programs aligned with annual objectives
- Lead regular program evaluation and reporting processes
- Coordinate the collection and integration of feedback from families, healthcare professionals, and partners
- Support the planning and implementation of new initiatives, including piloting and scaling programs
- Provide a sounding board for staff, helping to troubleshoot challenges and brainstorm solutions
- Maintain program documentation, timelines, and progress updates in collaboration with the team
- Hold accountability for program budgets, working with coordinators to plan, monitor, and manage expenditures in alignment with organizational priorities.
- Manage the Port Shirt program
Volunteer Coordination within Programs:
- Provide leadership and oversight of volunteer engagement as it relates to program delivery
- Collaborate closely with program coordinators on volunteer recruitment efforts to ensure the right fit for each program area
- Work with program coordinators to ensure effective onboarding, scheduling, and day-to-day volunteer support
- Support a collaborative approach to volunteer management, ensuring staff feel empowered and aligned in how volunteers are integrated into programming
- Partner with program and operations coordinators to implement systems for volunteer recognition and appreciation
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead, coach, and evaluate program staff, holding responsibility for team performance, development, and alignment with WCK’s mission and strategic goals.
- Identify team opportunities and individual development
- Provide daily leadership and management to the program coordinators, including oversight of their workflows, priorities, and performance
- Guide team members in aligning their work with organizational milestones and timeline
- Conduct regular check-ins and support the performance and professional development of program staff
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on program budget planning and tracking
- Assist with hiring and onboarding of new program team members
What Do You Bring:
- 2–3 years of leadership experience in program management or the nonprofit sector, including staff supervision and team development
- Proven ability to manage program budgets, track outcomes, and lead reporting processes
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging staff, volunteers, families, and partners
- Experience with program evaluation and improvement, including gathering and integrating feedback from participants and stakeholders
- Comfort working independently while collaborating within a small, passionate team
- A compassionate, creative, and proactive approach to problem-solving and leadership
- A deep belief in WCK’s mission and the power of community support
- Up-to-date immunizations
- A clear vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check
Compensation and details:
- This position is 32 hours/week
- Salary range is $60,000 - $63,000/year
- This role is required to occasionally work evenings and weekends and travel to program sites as required
- Extended health benefits
- 20 days paid vacation (includes 1 week office closure between Christmas and New Year’s)
- Flexible, hybrid work from home/office model
