Your Opportunity

In accordance with Letter of Understanding #1 – Student Employees, and under the direct supervision of the Success Centre Coordinator, the Student assists the supervisor with activities related to providing learning assistance to students to enable the students to better understand concepts which have been previously presented in lectures.

Functions and Duties

The Student will assist the supervisor by performing the following duties:

  1. Work with the project supervisors to create innovative student support activities which lead to improved student success

  2. Regularly communicate with project supervisors

  3. Performs other duties as assigned

Position Specific Functions

Education and Experience

Must be currently enrolled as a student at Okanagan College. Preference given to those with experience offering learning assistance.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in the content of the assigned course

  • Excellent time management skills to coordinate provision of both individual and small group learning assistance

  • Effective writing & organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Pays significant attention to detail
