This is a temporary full-time 6 month contract starting March 01st 2026 - August 31st, 2026. Shift Schedule : Wednesday to Saturday/Thursday to Saturday 5:30pm - 5:30am (12 hour shifts) The Mixer Operator plays a vital role in our food manufacturing process, ensuring the efficient and safe production of food products according to established quality and safety standards. This role involves operating production equipment, monitoring production processes, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the production area.
Function: Operate the Muffin Mixer #1 and Dough pump. Keep Mixer and Scaling area clean. Communicate with Muffin Divider #1. Follow Mixing Schedule. Follow the Formula book unless instructed by the shift supervisor.
Duties And Responsibilities On All Shifts
- Complete Pre-Operational checklist.
- Mix doughs in strict accordance with supplied formulas (other than making minor adjustments in absorption and mixing time).
- Ensure accurate scaling at all times.
- Keep scaling area organized, clean and ensure that all ingredients bins are stored at all times in their covered spots.
- Ensure all ingredients for dough’s are scaled for minimum 2 hours ahead.
- Maintain all log sheets as required.
- Maintain ingredient bins as per the Ingredient Bin Cleaning Schedule. Refill ingredient bins when necessary.
- Report any requests for formula changes to Supervisors.
- Report all equipment problems on Mechanical Defect sheet and to Supervisors.
- Keep muffin-mixing area organized, clean and sanitary. Clean machines and sweep the floor during production when possible.
- Clean all tools at beginning of shift and keep all tools in proper storage when not in use.
- Adhere strictly to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) outlined for working in a food processing plant.
- Assist in general cleaning of machinery and plant facility as assigned when production is stopped.
- Hose down fast line muffin Mixer and dough pump area daily when not in use.
- Assist in emptying “recycle bins” when needed and always at the end of your shift.
- Ensure all ingredients bins are filled. Fill out the ingredient LOT# tracking sheet. Call shipper if you need any ingredients off the rack.
- Report low levels of ingredients to Supervisors for reordering
- Check with Coordinators between changeover’s for required scheduling adjustments.
- Work as a team and cooperate with your fellow team members at all times.
- In case of an evacuation, responsible for stopping the mixer and the dough pump.
- Report any product loss, time loss, QA issues, or Mechanical problems to your shift supervisor immediately.
- Always check the dough before dumping it to the pump to ensure it is good quality. Call supervisor if there is a problem.
- Help the Muffin Line #1 Divider out between dough’s when not scaling.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures relevant to the job.
Specific Job Requirements
- Authorized Scissor lift and high reach operation.
- Physically able to lift and handle up to 25 kg weights (Ingredient bags etc.) regularly.
- Communication skills
Working Conditions And Physical Effort:
- Able to work in fast paced, high pressure environment
- Able to physically lift 25kg weight consistently
- Able to work in a warm environment (uniform, safety and work attire provided by employer)
- Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and/or noise.
- Work environment involves regular exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards.
- Personal protective equipment, as defined by C.H. Guenther and Son, will be provided
