About the role
Role : Data Analyst
Type : Contract, 6 months
Location : Markham
Environment : Hybrid
Pay Rate : $60-64/hour (Inc.)
Responsibilities As a bridge between business users and data warehouse developers, you will define user requirements and ensure the successful implementation of enhancements to the data warehouse. Key responsibilities include:

Research and Analysis:
-
Analyze available data to support business needs.
-
Clarify data transformations required to produce desired metrics.
-
Requirements and Documentation:
-
Document business requirements, including recommendations for report design and functionality.
-
Monitor the transition of business requirements into technical specifications.
-
Testing and Support:
-
Design, direct, and occasionally execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
-
Support business users on data warehouse issues, analyzing and resolving them in a timely manner.
-
Ad Hoc Reporting:
-
Respond accurately and promptly to ad hoc data inquiries and analyses.
-
Tableau Rollout and Continuous Improvement:
-
Support the rollout of Tableau and other business analytics initiatives.
-
Collaborate with business teams to enhance data and analytics capabilities across the organization.
Requirements
-
Education:
-
A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as applied mathematics, data science, computer science, economics, or statistics.
-
Experience:
-
2-5 years of experience in:
-
Data warehousing, data mining, and analysis.
-
Relational database management systems and reporting.
-
Eliciting and interpreting user requirements.
-
Technical Skills:
-
Advanced knowledge and experience with:
-
MS Excel.
-
SQL.
-
Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau).
-
Proficiency in working with operational and financial data, creating and modifying tables and forms, and developing programming logic for metrics and reports.
