About the role
Job Summary
The Accounting Administrator will support the finance department by performing a variety of administrative and accounting tasks. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing support for the yearly audit.
Job Responsibilities
Outlined below are 4 to 6 primary job duties, constituting a minimum of 5% of working hours or otherwise designated as additional responsibilities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Post AR and/or AP invoices into Business Central ensuring all information is correct (GL/commodity coding, weights, pricing, dates, etc.)
- Perform Customer/Vendor/Bank account(s) reconciliations using external documents and investigate/correct discrepancies as required to maintain clean accounts
- Complete intercompany transactions as required ensuring all sides balance as per company policy
- Prepare and post bank payments and receipts following internal procedures
- Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal departments.
- Provide support during audits and tax filings.
Education and Experience
- College certificate / diploma in accounting
- 3-5 years of experience
Job-specific Knowledge and Skills
- Experience with general accounting software, MS Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented with a high level of organization
- Skilled in working with other employees and all levels of management in a professional manner.
