About the role

The Operations Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials, office supplies, and plant-related products to support operational efficiency. This position will also serve as a production scheduling backup. This role ensures cost-effective procurement, supplier performance, inventory optimization, and timely delivery of required goods while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

Purchase commodities and services in accordance with Company procedures Analyze purchase requirements and review for accuracy Collaborate with other departments to clarify purchase requirements and refine specs for future orders Follow proper channels to obtain purchase authorization according to Company policy. Investigate and cultivate new sources for supplies and products. Secure product descriptions (Data Sheet) and samples following Company’s SOP’s for trial orders Identify and select vendors using criteria such as quantity, quality, price and delivery date. Place orders to procure items or services. Solve problems with orders in efficient and timely manner Take an active role in the procurement of inks, chemicals or supplies for the production floor and plant areas, supplier approval initiatives including supplier reviews, participating in training related to our Food Safety Systems. Maintain and keep current various purchasing databases (Purchase/estimate price etc) Run monthly reports as required by various departments. Maintain optimal inventory levels to support operations while minimizing excess or obsolete stock. Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to track inventory usage and adjust purchasing plans. Implement cost reduction initiatives, including vendor consolidation and bulk purchasing strategies. Ensure adherence to budget targets and procurement policies. Support and participate in monthly and annual inventory counts Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications. Support audits and reporting requirements related to procurement activities. Support and be a backup for production scheduler when needed.

Ability to work well in a team environment. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality of information to Company and Federal standards. Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and be able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. Must be dependable and work within Company conduct standards; consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.

Office Environment In office position - 5 days per week Frequent visits into the manufacturing Plant
