We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience in pharmaceutical renovation projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently planning and executing assignments requiring advanced expertise. This position entails addressing complex engineering challenges, refining established protocols, and leveraging comprehensive engineering knowledge to optimize design standards, reduce costs, and elevate work quality. Effective collaboration with internal teams, clients, and external agencies is an essential component of this role.
What You Will Do
- Plan and conduct complex engineering assignments with minimal supervision, applying extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering and its impact on other disciplines, as well as National and Provincial Building Codes, ASHRAE, NFPA, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Modify established guidelines and devise new approaches to meet project requirements. Apply existing criteria in innovative ways and draw conclusions from comparative situations.
- Develop and recommend improvements in design standards to lower costs and enhance work quality.
- Solve unique design and engineering issues through innovative approaches or criteria application.
- Initiate and develop guidelines and investigations for other team members to enhance problem-solving capabilities.
- Coordinate complex tasks, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Manage mid-sized to large projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and performance objectives for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and control systems in various projects.
- Prepare progress reports, recommend design changes, estimate costs, and recommend payments for completed work.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external agencies.
- Discuss design problems, explain design features and specifications, and outline project control criteria.
- Establish and maintain client contacts to seek or provide technical information related to projects.
- Communicate with clients to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Assist with various tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors or senior team members to support the overall success of the team and company objectives.
- Demonstrate a commitment to company values of quality, client focus, teamwork, sustainability, and community, integrating these principles into daily work practices and interactions with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably within a consulting environment.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, design standards, and best practices.
- Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems using innovative approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
- Project management experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage mid-sized to large projects.
