Pro Shop Attendant (Seasonal)
Port Hope Golf & Country Club – Port Hope, ON
Pay Rate: $17.60 per hour
The Port Hope Golf & Country Club winds through the historic grounds of Penryn Park on the bluffs of Lake Ontario, offering a scenic and challenging 18-hole course. As a premier golf destination, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our members and guests.
Our Pro Shop is the hub for all things sports-related, offering high-quality equipment, apparel, and expert advice. We are currently seeking a friendly, customer-focused Pro Shop Attendant to join our team.
This role requires availability for various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
About the Role
The Pro Shop Attendant is responsible for providing courteous and professional service to all members and guests while supporting the daily operations of the Pro Shop.
You’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Member Relations
- Greet members and guests in a warm, professional manner
- Respond to inquiries in person and over the phone
- Process green fees, power cart rentals, pull cart rentals, and club rentals
- Sell memberships, 10-round cards, and range bucket cards
- Build positive relationships with members and guests
Cash Handling & POS
- Accurately process payments and handle cash transactions
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system
- Manage tee time reservations and golfer flow using golf management software
Retail & Operations Support
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Pro Shop
- Assist with merchandising, stocking, and inventory organization
- Support special events, tournaments, kiosk operations, and driving range activities as required
- Support other departments as needed
- Communicate member or facility concerns to management
Qualifications
- Knowledge of golf is an asset
- Must hold valid Smart Serve certification
- Prior retail or customer service experience preferred
- Comfortable using computer systems and POS software
- Ability to perform physical job functions in all weather conditions
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Organized, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
