The Programs Branch of the Ministry of Agriculture is seeking a skilled and self-motivated outgoing individual to fill the position of Program Delivery Specialist.

Using your knowledge of program delivery methodology, outcome evaluation, and contract and agreement development, you will provide an exceptional client experience to individuals, corporate or non-corporate entities, and non-profit organizations. You will lead the development or updating of program processes and utilize those processes to analyze program applications for relevance against the program criteria, complete approvals or make recommendations to committees, directors, and senior leaders. You will manage client relationships with successful program applicants across the agriculture sector.

As a team player, you will use your strong interpersonal skills to coordinate and lead teams and meetings, while working collaboratively with Ministry colleagues, other government agencies and stakeholders.

This position is part of a team responsible for ensuring the Public Service Commitment to Excellence is reflected in the Ministry programs, particularly emphasizing citizen-centred service.

You will use your administrative and technical expertise to plan, organize and manage multiple, complex tasks and projects while being flexible and adaptable in meeting multiple and competing priorities. You will understand how the role of strong partnerships play in meeting Ministry of Agriculture program outcomes.

Using strong verbal and well-developed writing skills, you will develop a number of correspondences to a variety of audiences, including letters, briefing materials, recommendations, reports and analysis for senior management.

This opportunity is challenging but rewarding. Working with an experienced team, you will have the opportunity to expand your expertise in project management, program design and service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To assess program data/information to develop materials/reports and/or make decisions/recommendations/conclusions and about the application of programs, policies, procedures, guidelines, and issue approvals;
  • Collect and analyze relevant data to make accurate and timely decisions/recommendations on a variety of issues;
  • Verbally and in writing, explain program, policy, procedural, administrative, statistical, and financial matters to a variety of audiences;
  • Effectively utilize a variety of software programs and databases;
  • Work independently or lead/collaborate as a team member with co-workers, agencies, and others to consistently meet program and client needs; and
  • Plan and organize multiple, complex tasks and projects, taking into consideration conflicting and changing priorities to meet strict and/or changing deadlines.

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through a degree in public policy or project management, or business administration, combined with several years of relevant experience.
