About the role

Working in a team environment, the IT, Junior Project Manager will lead the implementation of Capital Projects for the Information Technology Division throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with different departments in a multidisciplinary environment. These activities include but are not limited to coordinating resources (internal and external), overseeing construction activities, managing contracts, following project schedules, supporting project scoping, cost control and budgeting, and creating reports as required by the project or the department. All of these while following NTPC's best work practices and safety regulations.

The Junior Project manager is expected to develop skills and competence and transition to the role of Project Manager.

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the Health & Safety programs, environmental programs, and NTPC's safety culture.
  • Lead delivery of turn-key and maintenance capital projects following NTPC project management processes.
  • Support the IT Infrastructure and IT Applications & Support Managers with project-related activities.
  • Leads the IT Division through the Capital Governance Committee reviews.
  • Maintain a high level of project management expertise by learning new methods applicable to the successful, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of projects and by attending courses and seminars.
  • Ensure that project documentation is properly filed and retained in accordance with NTPC's file retention policies and procedures.
  • Post-secondary Certificate or higher in Project Management. A background in Information Technology with appropriate work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience in any of the above listed responsibilities in a construction, utility, or industrial environment required.
  • A Certificate in Project Management, Construction Management, or any PMI certification is considered an asset.
  • Above-average computer knowledge in MS Windows environment and MS Office Suite applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in Internet Systems applications, emails, and cloud services.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
  • Successful Criminal record check must be provided prior to commencing work.

Salary for this position ranges from $57.85/hr-$70.28/hr. plus a location allowance of approximately $3,823 per annum. We offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes health and dental benefits, long-term disability, life insurance, paid sick days and a defined benefits pension plan. Relocation assistance will be provided.
