##Position Description

SickKids is seeking aPayroll Systems Administratorto join the Human Resources Department. The successful candidate will support the accurate, timely, and confidential delivery of bi-weekly payroll while providing payroll systems administration and operational support to internal stakeholders to maintain the integrity and efficiency of payroll operations.

####Here's What You'll Get To Do:

Process bi-weekly payroll using an electronic time capture system ExpressNet and Oracle PeopleSoft, including third-party processing.

Monitor the payroll inbox and triage inquiries to ensure timely responses and resolution.

Generate and analyze payroll reports to validate data integrity, support compliance, and minimize errors.

Administer garnishments, including setup, reconciliation, and associated third-party payments.

Partner with managers and timekeepers to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.

Provide timekeeping system training and administer timekeeping access, including user profile maintenance and end-user support.

Act as a payroll subject matter expert (SME) in system testing and validation activities related to payroll and timekeeping changes.

Identify and escalate payroll system issues.

Maintain compliance with access controls and internal audit requirements, support payroll audits, and related compliance controls.

Provide responsive, high-quality service to staff and stakeholders by addressing payroll-related questions and concerns.

Consult with Finance and external vendors (e.g., banking service providers) to reconcile accounts and resolve payroll-related issues.

Participate in payroll-related system upgrades by executing user acceptance test scenarios, validating outputs, and supporting documentation, in collaboration with HRIS

Act as backup to the Payroll Specialist, supporting year-end adjustments and completing other payroll duties as assigned.

Contribute to additional projects and initiatives, as required, in support of departmental and organizational objectives.

####Here's What You'll Need:

Minimum of four (4) years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing and/or payroll systems administration.

Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Demonstrated working knowledge of payroll and HRIS systems, including time and labour platforms and payroll applications.

Demonstrated understanding of payroll compliance, internal controls, audit requirements, and income tax legislation, with experience in accounting principles, journal entries, and payroll-related bookkeeping.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas and pivot tables) with experience in payroll reporting to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA) and its application to payroll practices.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a demanding environment, manage competing priorities, and meet established deadlines.
