About the role
St. Albert Public Schools is currently seeking a Division 2 BASC Teacher to join the team at Ronald Harvey School for the 2026-2027 school year.
Our Behaviour and Academic Strategies Classroom (BASC) is designed to support the development of both positive behaviours and social skills. With a focus on increasing student capacity for problem solving, self-regulation and emotional well-being, this program has a low student-to-staff ratio. The focus on literacy and numeracy is supported by the creation of individual positive behaviour support plans and individual program planning for each student. BASC also includes targeted teaching in the area of social/emotional skills and self-regulation.
FTE: 1.0 FTE; Full Time Probationary

- Teaching Division 2 BASC
Qualifications and Attributes:

A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Excellent interpersonal skills and works well as a team player

Commitment to a positive school culture & building community

Experience working in inclusive education programming and with multidisciplinary teams to support student learning and engagement

Experience developing Individual Program Plans and providing student accommodations

Experience differentiating curriculum as well as an understanding of scaffolding curriculum outcomes for complex learners

Comprehensive understanding of augmentative communication strategies and assistive technology
