About the role
Job Summary:
Bandstra Transportation Systems is seeking a reliable and safety-minded individual to fulfill our Class 1 Highway & Mine Service Driver position at our Edmonton, AB terminal operations. This role includes hauling deck and van trailers on both highway and off-highway routes, including into the mines Bandstra services. Drivers in this position will play an important role in supporting our northern operations, ensuring safe and efficient freight movement across challenging routes and varying schedules.
The position involves working up to 70 hours per week, with shifts running either Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday, and regular weekends off (Saturday/Sunday or Sunday/Monday)
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks on highway and off-highway routes
- Haul into the mines Bandstra services as required
- Load and unload deck and van trailers
- Properly secure and tarp loads when necessary
- Complete all required paperwork, logbooks, and inspections
- Ensure all safety regulations and standards are followed
- Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles / power units
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role:

Valid Class 1 Driver’s License

Previous off highway driving is a strong asset

Previous deck and tarp experience an asset

Must be willing to run highway day or night

Comfortable with off-highway and mine service driving

Strong attention to safety, detail, and time management

Ability to work independently on evening/night shifts

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Proficient in English (both reading and writing)

Must pass a Drug and Alcohol pre-employment test

Criminal Background check will be required for employment
