Position Overview
Are you a university student in the Faculty of Health Sciences studying Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy?
We need you this summer for a 14-week full-time period (from May to August 2026)
You will be able to work with an adult clientele and within our Children's Rehabilitation Program.

Program Objective:
A Clinical Extern is an unregulated health care provider who provides basic clinical care to patients and their families. They will work in collaboration with an interdisciplinary healthcare team under the supervision of an appointed regulated healthcare professional.
Types of eligible clinical learners are those in physiotherapy or occupational therapy.
Practice in a team-based model of care to provide support to the patient care teams by assisting with basic clinical tasks. Assists the care team with:

Assist clinicians in sessions (prep material, desinfect used materials

Assist clinician during session (taking notes)/support clinician)

Get clients for clinician in waiting room
-
Support parents filling out forms
-
Work on projects for the department (power point presentations, put together a program with given information from clinician)

Laminate and cut material for clinicians
-
Organize and clean storage
-
Reorganizing drive
-
Use ipad to conduct client surveys
HOURS OF WORK:
Temporary full-time position (37.5 hrs per week)
- Weekday shifts
Criminal Check
As a pre-condition of employment:

All new HGH employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Police Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.
